GKL Lotte Tour April 2024 Casino Table Sales dip-om-m

Grand Korea Leisure Inc. (GKL), which operates a casino exclusively for foreigners in Korea, saw its April sales drop 19.7 percent month-on-month to just under W32.43 billion. Year-on-year, its sales fell 28.9 percent in April 2023.

GKL's April table game sales fell 21.2% sequentially to just over W29.42 billion, and 30.3% year-on-year.

Machine game sales were little changed month-on-month, falling 1.8% from March to just under 3.01 billion won. Machine game sales were down 11.1% year-on-year in April.

Overall sales in the January-April period of 2024 were 126.1 billion won, down 17.7% from a year earlier. It did not comment on the reasons for the deterioration in sales.

Casino table drop in April - money exchanged for chips - was flat compared to March at 319.43 billion won, but up 7.8% compared to April 2023.

In April, Lotte Tour Development Inc., the founder of the Jeju Dream Tower Casino Resort on Korea's Jeju Island, reported casino sales fell 8.1 percent month-on-month to W20.39 billion. Sales are estimated to be up 104.8 percent year-on-year.

Jeju Dream Tower's hotel sales in April were just under 7.49 billion won, up 36.5% from March, and 8.2% better compared to the same period last year.

Table gaming sales in April 2024 were nearly W19.52 billion, down 7.7% sequentially, but up 114.6% annually.

Machine gaming performance was down 16.7% from March to 873 million won, but up 1.4% year-on-year.

The cumulative casino sales from January to April reached 90.4 billion won, up 243.5% from the same period last year.

Lotte Tour's casino table decrease in April was 128.31 billion won, up 5.2 percent from March and up 32.6 percent from a year earlier.
